3 Things to Let Go of for a Better Life

Letting go is an essential ingredient of transformation and change. You can’t allow new things into your life if you haven’t let go of things that are holding you down.

In this article, I will discuss three things that I believe will assist in transforming and changing your life for the better, God willing.

1. Let Go Of One Negative Emotion

Emotions fall into two categories:

  • Positive Emotions
  • Negative Emotions

In my experience, you either experience a majority of negative emotions throughout the day and a few positive ones. Or a majority of positive emotions with a few negative ones. I find that emotions are magnetic in nature, so they always hold hands with other similar feelings.

Joy will hold hands with gratitude, hope, inspiration, Love, etc.

Fear will hold hands with sadness, worry, frustration, etc.

I’ve also found that the more positive emotions you experience throughout the day, the more happiness and peace you’ll encounter.

Therefore letting go of negative emotions is essential for creating a peaceful and happy life.

However, it’s challenging to do it all in one shot; I advise my clients to choose one negative emotion they don’t want in their life and let go of it.

I ask them to say,‘ you know what, I just don’t want you with me anymore.’

What to do?

Choose one negative emotion you don’t want anymore; let it go and replace it with its opposite. For example, let’s say you want to let go of sadness; then, you’ll probably want to substitute it with happiness or joy. Define what thoughts, actions, and words create happiness and joy? Then, start integrating them into your life, God Willing.

Let Go Of Past Hurts

Many people may have hurt you in the past; however, it’s not in your favour to keep holding on to what they did. Letting go of past hurts doesn’t mean that you condone what happened: not at all! It simply means, ‘I Love myself so much that I don’t want you in my body or subconscious anymore. I choose to let go of you internally and externally. I love myself enough to move on and not let anyone ruin my present.’

Let Go of Not Loving Yourself

You will never eat, sleep, talk to or be with anybody more in life than you’ll be with yourself. Not Loving Yourself doesn’t work. Fear, worry, and insecurities creep in when Love is absent. Strength, happiness, and confidence reign in the presence of Love. Your life is too precious to spend it not Loving Yourself. My motto: Love Yourself and make your life your No1 Priority; if you don’t, no one else will!
